Dear Member,
We have now received revised guidelines from Bowls England regarding further easing of the lockdown rules as published by H.M. Government.
This now allows us to have up to 30 people at the Club at one time while continuing to maintain Social Distancing which now reads, 2 metres between people from different households, or 1 metre plus mitigations (such as face coverings or avoiding face to face contact) where 2 metres is not possible. It is recommended that players do all they can to maintain 2 metre distancing.
The Clubhouse can now be opened for use by all Members and visitors provided Social distancing is maintained. The Clubhouse will be set out to facilitate this and there will be a strict rule of only one person at a time at the Bar. The toilets will remain open as before, but the changing rooms will stay closed.
The good news is that your Committee have now decided to commence with Monday evening Club Nights as from Monday 13th July. Please come along and have some fun.
We have also decided that some of the Club Competitions can be run, for which there will be NO CHARGE, these are, Mixed Triples, Club Pairs and Singles with the possibility of one or two of the Ladies Competitions. Entry forms for these competitions will be sent out very soon and we would like those wishing to take part to return the forms by 25th July.
The competitions will take place on set dates and each competition will be run provided there are sufficient entries. There will of course be prizes for the winners.
We are also attempting to arrange the occasional friendly match with other Clubs, these will be on a limited number basis due to Social Distancing. Please talk to any of the Committee members if you would like to play in these friendlies and watch the notice board for any match sheets and get your name down.
As mentioned before this letter is by no means intended to put pressure on any club member and make them feel they must get out and bowl. They are merely to allow those who wish to bowl, the opportunity to do so but with restrictions.
Best Regards,
